my diet has become fairly consistent daily 2 bananas 2 apples some dried fruit, protein granola bars and lots of water to subsist on and every day or so I’ll stop and have a big sandwich or a big breakfast but other than that that’s pretty much it.
Today I had my second flat, my first was in Punta Gorda across from a bike shop. No manmade objects have caused them, so far thorns are the culprits. The Cannondale is holding up well, thanks to the guys at The Bike Route Naples who built my wheels and overhauled the rest in preparation for my journey. Thanks guys!
Sunday I crossed over the mighty Mississippi Riverleaving behind the deep southern states, 15,000 feet of hill climbing and over a thousand miles. as I travel I meet wonderful and unique people however they all have similar questions for me. Where….from… to… WHAT??…WHY??….HOWWW LONG?? You should see the reactions. As far as distance goes, I tell them that I don’t have to get to Alaska today, I just have to get to that next curve, (I point…they look). Little daily milestones keep me going and just when I think I’m not getting anywhere, I look back and think it all went by too quickly. This week I’ll be crossing the Ozark Mountains and I can test out my Alabama climbing basic training that I put myself through. Route 84 through Alabama, The El Camino Trail, is a logging road that other bikers avoid because of the unending hills and logging truck traffic, good to know now.
Maggie’s used books in Dothan Alabama was a great stop, initially went past but was drawn to turn around. I walked in and Maggie welcomed me with a cold bottle water and said a lot of people come in after turning around, something draws us in. Maggie picked the perfect book and gave it to me for a rainy tent day. Her mom’s book shop is in Franklin NC. Thank you Maggie!

She is in daily contact, as signal permits, consulting on dietary and nutritional needs as well as drop shipping supplies as necessary. 110 g. As the days go on and patterns become recognizeable we will report what seems to work best to keep my energy levels at peak. just too short years agoI was headed for speed towards the grave eating and drinking everything insight human vacuum cleaner and headno concept of the true harm I was doing to my body also looking back on photographsit is truly horrifyingso and some of my blogs I will try to convey my journey and impart some of my newly learned wisdom I’m not a doctorand I have just scratched the surface I’m learningbut the truth is everyone that I speak with is touched somewhere in in their family or close associations by this open by this open mouth cramming food intodisease diabetes and they’re desperate to find some solace or solutions of which I can only tell my story as it relates before I woke up to this problem nobody could tell me so I understand what people are up against and yes it usually does take some kind of a catastrophe or tragedy so wake people up or open their eyesso I will be my part to recount some of the faces I went through and until some other people storiesthat I’ve met during my journey and if I can just help one personmake a reset that I have done then it’ll all be worth it
I’m coming to realize one of thethe things I’m loving most about this experience so far is that everyone that I meet and talk about what I’m doing with my positive outlook regarding this endeavor is having a positive and contagious effect on them. no matter what type of day people are having when they spot me read my poster or ask me what’s going on believe me my answers change their day! the looks the reactions and the comments are priceless as you could well imagine.
